Admin image upload problem

05 Aug 2013, 10:24

Hi

I follow the instructions to upload files to a newly created folder and they seem to upload correctly.
I go through to the front end and see the thumbnails in place but when I click the thumbnails, any of them,
it never loads up the high res version - any ideas as to why this has started since the latest upgrade?
I can use FTP to upload them and all seems to work well - problem is that my client would need to have FTP
access to upload this way and I don't want to give the client if possible, the permission to get access this way.
I have done this before with dire consequences as the client went walk-about on the server and messed up the whole job.

Many thanks in advance for any help

I have checked the permissions on the successfully uploaded files and they are 600.
when i change them to 644 they all work correctly.
How can i ensure that the files being uploaded via the admin arrive on the server as 644 and not 600?

You mean images receive correct permissions when uploading by FTP, but not when using the uploader in the admin?

Hi,

This is a bit strange as Imagevue should set 666 to files and 777 to folders by default. We haven't change anything in this regard since 2.7.4. And in fact it does:

Are you sure nothing has changed on your sever?

Thanks again for replying

Nothing has changed to my knowledge but I will investigate further as I could do with this back 'on track'.
