Am I doing something wrong or is it not possible to set permission for more than one folder per person (not counting subfolders)?

You can only set either admin (no restrictions), or a folder including sub-folders as restriction. You can not create multiple restrictions for the same user. Sorry, but Imagevue does not use advanced groups and restrictions from the admin. Maybe in the future ...
