Re: Hosting providers reply

Now the above is obviously what is causing this, and it would have been interesting to see if they had some explanation for this. Why does it timeout, before then processing perfectly on refresh? It is the same code that is processing in both occurrences.

Somebody hinted that they may want to upgrade their server software for example if they are using fastCGI ...

The above issue still remains. I have notified my hostingprovider again, and thankfully they done some investigation.
I really do hope, this may solve the matter. My galery is not of much use otherwise... and i'm pretty disappointed.

I tried to translate the Dutch reply as good as possible..

Dear Sir / Madam,

Thank you for your letter.

We have investigated the possibilities, and have not found a solution
because we do not know what will or won't work with your softwarepackage.

One of the ways that we had in mind but which is likely to give problems is the following:

Insert an extra line in your. Htaccess file:

DirectoryIndex index.html index.php

A new file called index.html with the following contents:

<meta http-equiv="refresh"
content="0;URL=http://rvd-fotografie.nl/index.php/#/content/start/" />

It is best to ask the developers whether they can contribute a solution
so that the reference to /#/content/start/ can be made faster.
(perhaps something with java scripts).

Incidentally, the automatic is working quickly and the
page loads properly at the moment.

Sincerely / Best Regards

Update:

I'm still talking a lot with technical support of my hostingprovider.
They think it might have something to do with "load balancing" on the server.
As my site is not visited much, the server might go in some sort of idle?

They promised me they would tranfer my site to a less stressed server.
The new version x2.1.8.1 didn't fix the problem unfortunately.

Any new options i can try?

(One.com will soon, or have already updated apache server software. Thats what they told me)

Tranfer is taking place right now it seems. I have enabled PHP errors, to see if the transfer has something to do with my site beeing unavailable right now. Can't really figure out these errors though.. http://www.rvd-fotografie.nl

Checked your gallery right now, and it loaded fine (at least considering the amount of folders in your menu). It may have been slow earlier if your server was overloaded of course ...

There is no other "fix" for this from our side until we release next version which has cache functionality, so the menu will load much faster.

There still is the same problem... It opens after a couple retries...
Than it works fine...
I also still have the same problem.

Let's wait for the update to be released later this week, and then see where that leaves us ... I believe this release may solve everything.
