Folder name

23 Sep 2016, 15:49

I've uploaded two folder full of images. One called 11.123456 and the other one 12.123456 so the folder basically has the same name after the dot. I've had to change the name of one of the two otherwise the latter simply doesn't show up. As soon as I've changed the name, the gallery appeared.

Is that normal?

Yes that is normal. Why would you have two items with the SAME name? X3 folders have this naming syntax:

index.NAME

The folder name is, amongst other things, used to create the URL, so the url would be:
yourdomain.com/123456/

How is it supposed to work if two URL's are the same? Names (following the index) should be unique, and I don't see any reason why you would consider using the same name for two URL's.

Since I name the folder with the event date like 26092016, casually we had two event on the same date so the folders have the same name. Now I know that :-)

Related to this and since I'm using as folder name the events dates, I'd like to know if it's possible leaving the folder names as they are now but replacing the url with something more seo friendly so instead having the url like domain.it/2016/123456 I can have something like domain.it/2016/name_of_event.
Not a question of life or death but shoud be interesting...

Yes of course, and this is exactly how Imagevue X3 works. Why not just rename the folder "123456" to "1.name-of-event"? The number first will decide the order of the page within it's parent context, and the url will display as /2016/name-of-event/.
