Migration from X2 to X3

27 Feb 2017, 14:57

Hi
I have a 470 folders, 18287 files X2 imagevue and would like to use the x2-convert.php script
All my folder have an -altimage sub-folder.
The real size image are on the _altimage sub-folder and the resized image are on the main folder.

What action are done by the php script in this -altimage folder ?
Does X3 use also _altimage subfolder

Thanks

Good question. I was going to refresh the convert script next week.

I just checked, and it would mistakingly rename it to 1._altimage. You can use this updated x2 convert script, and it should leave the _altimage folder untouched (and any other folder starting with _underscore, which is supposed to be hidden also in X3).

X3 doesn't specifically use the name "_altimage", but all folder names that start with _underscore, are hidden in X3. You can create similar functionality in X3 as in X2 to for example show download links that point to images in the _altimage folder. I wrote a tutorial for this last week:

* With Emphasis on last section in the post "Download high-resolution images".

Hi some return on the "old" (from 3 days ago) php script.
It does not
rename _altimage in 1.-altimage
rename the folder with date only example the folder 2010 say unmodified

So I will have a look on your link to use the _altimage as download place.

But the question is
Is it possible to place the file from the altimage folder to the main folder ?
Did the x3 version manage with larger image ?

Thanks

Ok the Download script works fine.
Just a question
How to remove the green "magnifying glass" on the gallery view ? (not the function to see the image in larger, but the drawing of the magnifying glass)

Many thanks

You mean this?

Go to the page settings -> gallery, scroll down until you find "CSS Classes", and remove the "hover" class (select is and click keyboard "delete").

Wonderful this was exctly what I want.

One more question. Is there a way to apply a setting (like the remove of the hover CSS Classes or the add of the Download link) to all the sub-folder of a folder ?

As for the hover style, it can be enabled/disabled GLOBALLY from main settings -> page -> gallery -> default classes. Then, you can toggle it on/off from each page (if you want it different than global default), but no, you cannot set it per sub-folder inherited from parent folder.

As for the download link, you can also set this GLOBALLY from main settings -> page -> image. This might work for you, as you can easily disable it for any few galleries where you don't want the download button. You cannot set it per folder inheriting upon subfolders.
