71.000 + pics in the gallery (excluding thumbs and such)
(takes 30 secs to load and then its ready :P) ... so that is'nt too bad I guess.

Needs to be somewhat database driven ... so I guess it's a no.
Would love a bridge to the most common bulletin boards/forum software though but it isn't the core thing Imagevuex is focussed on.

Would still be nice though ;)

IIRC in htaccess you can use
DirectoryIndex followed by which to open first.

Example:
DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm

If you have access to it you can do it yourself.
Otherwise take Pain's advice and contact your host.
