sorry for being a little dumb but what do you mean by editting index.gallery.phtml ive left this as default, so what must i add to it?

hi karl, ive just done some digging on my site and although i have html gallery enabled the the admin console, i cant seem to access it, every time i try it redirects to the flash. there are only two reason i can think of this ..... 1) i ave the gallery embedded? would this cause this i dont know? 2...

ok i understand so far, i guess my next question would be is there anyway of getting search engines to see the text in the descriptions of the images?

ps. is it me or are things getting a little hostile in here?

hi karl, as i said before niether my flash or html site has been indexed by any search engine. (both are enabled) my real concern is that search engines are moving away from titles and metadata and focusing on content. at the risk of sounding 'rash' google really does know nothing about my flash gal...

there is no problem with search engines finding the first page a least when its embeded, the problem comes when your core site is based in x2 and the www knows nothing about it!!!

what is this wordpress what does it do???

uumm ive never heard of that one before but that doesnt mean its not true, personally i think we need the x2 developers to really dig in and see what can be done from here on in...........

im sorry but i dont understand why you keep on about this html sitemap? its a know fact that most search engines will crawl a site and in the process search for a file named "sitemap.xml" it enables search engines to find pages which it wouldnt normally find and link to them accordingly. its my understanding best sitemap format for search engines is an XML in the root folder named sitmap.xmp . surly there would be a way of pointing x2 to an xml file somewhere on the webserver where it can add remove sitmap info say when the cashe is cleared, also ive spent alot of time with my site ...

so does this mean that there will no longer be forum support for x2 until the new site goes live???
