Thanks. I'll stick to X2. Those config items are great; of course I don't know all of them, but what I've looked for I've found.

OK, but all within the same imagevue installation, and under one "gallery" folder. Right? When using the "contentfolder" parameter, we are actually specifying an entire folder with all its subfolders and content. In that example above, it will load two completely different menu, ultimately with enti...

Thanks! That worked like a charm. One more question about this area. As a test to try to shorten the URL even more, I tried putting the start...html file into the root directory of my website (not in /gallery), but got "Oops! - This page requires javascript" message when I sent the browser to it. I'...

Karl, Thanks for the great reply. I'm using X2 and hadn't explored it enough to know that you can have an unlimited depth of folders. That opens up a lot of possibilities. For most of my folders, I'll want to limit access to them alone, so I'll use direct links. In your examples of the two links, ar...

I also agree :-) I'm brand new here and just put my "test" textpage with links to image folders out to a few friends. One replied that he almost missed the links because he didn't know anything was below what he could see.

OK, I found that I needed a <textformat leading="[height of image]"> to make the image and text work together. So the missing text from the beginning of content section now appears. I guess the "description" isn't intended to appear because it doesn't appear in the provided textpage example. Can som...

How to create html files that contain URL parameters?

I've seen here that a way to eliminate parameters from the URL that goes directly to a folder of images is to somehow embed those parameters into html files such as gallery1.html, gallery2.html, etc. I don't know enough to do that. I'm an OK monkey-see/monkey-do coder, but that's about it. I'd appre...

I'm having a problem with those URL paramaters. My image folder under the content folder is "millvalley2009". When I use the URL http://ruthvenphotos.com/gallery/?contentfolder=millvalley2009/ it gets changed to http://ruthvenphotos.com/gallery/?contentfolder=millvalley2009#/content/start/ and the i...

Basic question about Imagevue

I've been using Imagevue X2 for a bit less than two days and already like it a lot. But as I think about it, it seems to me to have a built-in limitation which is that it's one gallery, and the different groups of images reside in folders in that one gallery. Therefore there are only two levels, (1)...

OK, I've learned enough that not having the Carbon template/theme isn't a problem. I've configured the default theme enough that it looks the way I want. Boy, this thing is has so may config items it's awesome.

Re: How to hide the filename?

I want the image title to appear when one is present, but do not want the filename to appear. Is that possible?
