It adds stuff from seo to the frontpage of flash gallery, you can also edit index.gallery.phtml. Kinda strange that it doesnt get saved though. But as an alternative approach you can add those icons in footer below your gallery, just open index.gallery.phtml and add another <TR> to the table you'll see there.
