Hi, I really like the sidebar lay-out in X3. The only thing i don't like about using it is that it can cause an ugly scrollbar between menu and content. I would have to disagree with your SEO-optimized-URL approach. Doubling up on keywords in the url is not the way to go, and Google wants your url's to be as nice as possible for humans. I don't really see the problem here, as your logo seems "fine" also on mobile. We will not be adding an icon to tell the user to rotate their phone ...
