Panoramic View Mode

29 Jul 2008, 11:46

I just downloaded the V2 beta and it looks really good, I was hoping there would be a panoramic view mode?

I searched the forum and there have been previous requests and a suggestion it would be included in a future version :)

We didn't initially have anything planned ... Perhaps you can explain how you would want it?

You want your image to display fullscreen perhaps and then scroll ny mouse navigation?

By default, any image(including panoramic images), will simply resize to fit screen. I mean, it's not like incompatible with panorama images in any way ...

I'd like it to work similar to the virtual tour software that is available, not so advanced but just the basic features for viewing those panoramic images,

Not resize the image but have it zoomed out
Auto scroll the image from side to side
Use the scroll wheel or buttons to zoom in and out of the image
Allow the user to use buttons or the cursor to move around the image, side to side / up and down

Thanks for the feedback - We will look into solutions after we have progressed with more important issues.

Zoom

12 Mar 2009, 15:18

I have reviewed the product and think it is great. The one feature we would like to see is a 'zoom and pan' mode for really large images. This is the same effect, let's say, in Google maps, where the softare cuts the large image up into smaller 'tiles' so the image can be zoomed in for detail. A site that I saw that does a good job of the zoom feature is Zoomorama http://www.zoomorama.com. But ImageVuex is much better for category organization, options for images, EXIF info etc.

Would a zoom and pan feature be possible?

We are certainly going to add some panning mode to the forthcoming imagevue 2.1 for large- and/or scaled images.

I found nice example what could be implemented into imagevue, here it is:

developer's website: http://www.zoomify.com/flash.htm

It's not a "3D-like" image, just image navigation, but I think that would be enough.

Any thoughts on when that might be? I have a client using this gallery that really wants that feature.

Thank you!

I think we can try and add this to a new release coming in 2 weeks time, although I am not 100% sure of the depth of this yet.

We have added a image-panning feature now, which will be available in a release later tonight. For now, it basically scrolls the image based on stage-mouse position. Try it out ...
