translation errors in franzoesisch.xml

Hello,

There are some mistakes in the french translation shipped in the franzoesisch.xml file of the day's update. By the way, why did you use this german name "frazoesisch" instead of "french" or "franàis" ??

I would replace some lines with (modifications are boldfaced) :
<previous_image>Image précédente</previous_image>
<previous_thumbnails>Page précédente</previous_thumbnails>
<window>Ouvrir dans une nouvelle fenàªtre</window>
<showimage>Afficher l'image</showimage>
<login>Ouvrir la session</login>
<logout>Fermer la session</logout>
<copylocation>Copier l'adresse de l'image</copylocation>
<enterfullscreen>Ouvrir en plein écran</enterfullscreen>
<exitfullscreen>Fermer le plein écran</exitfullscreen>
You may prefer
<exitfullscreen>Sortir du mode plein écran</exitfullscreen>
[/quote]

Sorry for my english, but I'm native french speaker...

Sincerely yours,

MacDo

For instance, my personal french.xml file is the following :
<xml>
<lang>
<image>Image</image>
<page>Page</page>
<next_image>Image suivante</next_image>
<previous_image>Image précédente</previous_image>
<next_thumbnails>Page suivante</next_thumbnails>
<previous_thumbnails>Page précédente</previous_thumbnails>
<popup>Ouvrir dans un popup</popup>
<window>Ouvrir dans une nouvelle fenàªtre</window>
<download>Télécharger l\'image</download>
<zoomin>Agrandir</zoomin>
<zoomout>Dézoomer</zoomout>
<play>Démarrer le diaporama</play>
<stop>Arràªter le diaporama</stop>
<showimage>Afficher l\'image</showimage>
<showthumbnails>Afficher les miniatures</showthumbnails>
<imageinfo>Description de l\'image</imageinfo>
<mainmenu>Menu de la galerie</mainmenu>
<sendemail>Envoyer l\'image par email</sendemail>
<login>Login</login>
<logout>Logout</logout>
<open>Ouvrir</open>
<copylocation>Copier l\'adresse de l\'image</copylocation>
<enterfullscreen>Ouvrir en mode plein écran</enterfullscreen>
<exitfullscreen>Sortir du mode plein écran</exitfullscreen>
<audio>Audio</audio>
<volume>Volume</volume>
</lang>
But I have problems with quotes : when editing, a simple quote (') is replaced by a (\') and in the gallery, it shows (\') instead of the desired simple quote ('). For instance, the gallery shows
Télécharger l\'image
instead of
Télécharger l'image

Is this a bug ?

We received a few language files from some users and just dumped them for trying out. We will rename them correctly in next release =) ... and fix this possible bug of course related to UTF-8.

Thanks - I think honestly its best if you simply "create a new language" and make french from scratch. Problem with that file, is that it wasn't saved as utf-8 for some reason, and I can't fix it because I don't know french =)

Yes, please just send attach the file to the post so other people can check it too and use immediately or improve. We'll add it to next update batch.

Since I cannot attach files here, I put my french.xml file here. Hope this helps...

On my side, when I use french.xml in the admin I get these wrong letters instead of the accent 'é' 'è' 'àª' etc...
I corrected that, saved and then it's fine in the gallery. But if I opened it through the admin panel again, I've got again the missing letters...? ..
Weird isnt it ? Why this behaviour..

I think you should actually create a NEW file and DELETE the one you have been working on. Changing it around will not change the fact that it is incorrectly saved.

Thanks for that, I am adding it for next release! Thanks to everyone creating language files!

We will still be adding a few items to the language files before final release, so please, can everyone with updated language files resend new versions after final release? Thanks!
