Just added my wishes to the bottom of loads of posts, then realised that all seems a bit quiet.

Is there ANY news on any development and new version?

We are now approaching the second half of the year, and I see many coments about a new version, but these seem to have been made at the end of last year and the beginning of this one.

Quiet before the storm - Isn't that what they say?

It has been mentioned once or twice the past few mothns that we are working on a new(brand new) version that we hope to release by the end of the year.

Major new features will include:
# Flexible/adaptable layout (both thumbnails and image display)
# Flexible thumbnail size- and style.
# Online configuration from admin.
# Full administration (folder+images)
# Multiple file support (jpg, gif, png, swf, flv, txt)

I originally posted a query in this regard back in August....believe me, I'm not trying to nag this issue...I only want the product you're satisfied with releasing. I'm just exicited to see what you've come up with....and curious if it'll be AS 3.0
Thanks for your hard work and a great tool.

The new version will be AS2, but we may look into porting it to AS3 after release.

Maybe im wrong, but how about making sure it works in 64 bit version, cause the one thats out now doesnt sho in 64 bit version og ie 7. And yes i did activate javascript, but still does'nt show. Just a suggestion from me.

I am not sure why it does not work on your specific platform combo, but I can assure you it has nothing to do with 64 but operating systems. Even if it did, it would be out of my hands. You would have to target the flash player from Adobe if that was the case.

So are we near a release yet? Do we have a date?

How will the new version integrate with the version we already have? I.e., how much legwork on our end should we expect in order for the upgrade to work with our existing galleries? Will the new version integrate seamlessly with our existing configurations, or will we have to re-do anything (or everything)?

That's a good question - What I can say about the new version, is that it's a new version and not simply an upgrade/update. Things will look different and things will work different. Some people may even like the current version more than the new version? Obviously, that is not our plan. The new version will certainly be more powerful.

The only thing you can count on keeping from your existing gallery, is your content folder(the folder where your images and gallery structure is located). The new version will support the current structure, and also support custom structure like deeper folder levels or single level.

All other files will be trashed, including configuration files. You may of course keep any background or startimage files you have created, but they must be set in the new config for the new version. Configuration of the new version can be done from the new admin interface, simplifying the task.

I urge people to stay patient regarding the new release. Sometimes progress may seem slow, but I can assure you there is nothing we want more than to release a nice new gallery.

Should I be checking Daily, Weekly or Monthly?

I've been checking back pretty often as I'm anxious and excited to see your newest creation. Also I've checked the Maju site over the years just because I thought it was a cool site.....is that pretty much a dead project? I've noticed alot of broken links and what not.....just curious. rjd
