Noticed that too.
Also the text is always the main site's description when i thought it would be using the description text of the shared folder if available.
For instance when sharing my folder "The Coup" : http://www.nz-photo.com/Essays/coup/ I thought photo and description would be from that "Coup" album...

This feature DOES work, if there are no server-related bugs.

From our demo gallery page "Sweet Landscapes":
https://www.photo.gallery/demo/x3/galleries/landscapes/

Facebook debugger report is flawless:

Need a link to your gallery and the page that you are trying to post (I can't remember all users). This could be related to site-wide issues with paths and mod_rewrite related to your server, preventing correct facebook meta data in your page.

Why when I click that link does it redirect to http://nz-photo.com/index.php?/Essays/coup/ ... Did you/they turn of mod_rewrite, and turn on some kinda redirections or something? This was not how your server was working earlier Nicholas. Furthermore, you seem to have some redirect issue with your server nz-photo.com vs nzwarg.com. See error messages from facebook debugger:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/d ... says/coup/

These bugs are all related to the above. It seems nzwarg.com is the main domain, and PHP reports this as your base_url, while nz-photo.com is just some alias or something ... Yet nzwarg.com is set to redirect to nz-photo.com ... Some unnecessary complications going on at least, thats for sure ...

Interesting...

I wonder what is different about the Landscapes Gallery and the Food Gallery. The Food Gallery does not get in image in FB.

Alright I have looked into that but I didn't change anything about mod_rewrite (don't even know what it is...)
It doesn't look like our former tests as i have migrated the site out of the experimental x3 folder to the main server area.

You were right indeed, the issue came from my mistake as I left nzwarg.com as the base_url setting when my main domain is still nz-photo.com ... (I have to ask to the guyz hosting my server to change the main url from nz-photo.com to nzwarg.com..)
So before that the FB thing is working fine as soon as I am using the correct base_url in the settings of course...

Thanks for pointing it quickly Karl and really sorry I got you loosing your time for that.

Glad we can get through important issues, and the feedback is crucial so we can try to make things more waterproof.

I just tried one of your native galleries, and it works fine. I did however have to refresh the link in Facebooks debugger to scrape new data:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/d ... az-canyon/

There may be a few reasons for this, but essentially it is just related to facebook slowness and cache. You can use the facebook debugger tool for two things: 1) Check what meta data Facebook see, and 2) click "fetch new scrap information" to refresh facebooks cache of the meta data for this page.

After debugging it in the facebook debugger, it works fine:
Image

As mentioned, this is not Imagevue, but slowness, laggyness and cache in Facebook. If a share isn't working, first of all go here https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/, then click "fetch new scrape information". If you get an error, click again and check the output. This is related to Facebook caching and I cant fix 100% correct output on the X3 pages ... Although I am not sure why Facebook can't get it right on first go, it is definitely related to some facebook cache, perhaps when it tries the first time, or it cached some result while the page was incomplete or before images were created.

Thanks for looking into this guys! I really appreciate it. There are so many factors at play... X3, Server and now FB. Nice to know that it is big bad FB that has the problem. I played with the FB object debugger and everything works great... as you said... FB has a bit of a lag. Thanks again!

I do have one last question on this topic...

When I post the site url... http://www.merelyafleshwound.com the "Default Preview" image is posted. Is there a place in X3 to specify a site level image?

Your 1.index page represents your root start page, which is available to you from the admin like any other page. By default, there is a file thumb.jpg in this folder, but you can delete it and add your own image. Any image (defaults to thumb.jpg) you upload into the index folder, will also be default fallback preview image for other pages, when they can't find a better solution. Preview image for folders is multi-redundant in this order:

1. image setting
Page preview image will be set to the image defined in your image setting. You can use an image uploaded into the folder itself:
Code
image: filename.jpg
... or an image from a separate folder:
Code
image: gallery/filename.jpg
2. thumb.jpg
If you have not defined anything in the image setting, you can upload an image thumb.jpg into any folder, and this will become your page preview image. Any file with name "thumb.jpg", will not display in your page's gallery list because the name is reserved for preview image only.

3. gallery
If you don't set either of the above, the page will simply use the first image it can find in the folder. It may also search the "assets" folder if you are using the "assets" setting in your gallery.

4. child folders
If the folder does not contain any images, it will get the first image from the first child folder. This is useful for default assignment of a preview image to folders that contain more folders.

5. index folder
If all the above fails; no image setting, no thumb.jpg, no images uploaded and no child folders, the page will simply use the first image uploaded into your 1.index page.
