I am not sure why the text 'NaN' is appearing below some of my preview images.

Have you set your settings -> page DEFAULT description as [empty space]? If you want it empty, just leave it empty, no space!
Likely something you did in an earlier release as the default description was not empty, and you would likely need to use an empty space to overwrite the default. NOW (v 0.18), the default description is empty by default.
