Funny Bug: Gallery Auto Refreshing

28 Aug 2008, 09:36

hi guys, please help aka please report - do you have this problem too?
since the last update some people/visitors of the site says the gallery refresh the screen for self, if you play a little bit around or if the slideshow is active.

now i use the last version, but the bug is already active. we can reproduce this on all our testmachines with different os and browsers. and this info: there are over 700pics in the gallery in the moment, many of the testinstalls of the guys here showing not so much pics.
please help, karl!

thanx

Not sure about refresh, though, just wondering if you had any performance issues with gallery?

This may been cause by swfAdress issue, symptoms might be alleviated by using simpler file names, without spaces atleast.

SwfAddress seem not to like them. It wouldnt be easy to rename files with descriptions filled, but fortunately you dont have them.

I can confirm that this is the SWFAddress module. It doesn't like certain characters, and in your case, it is the parenthesis() in the filename.

If you disable settings.useswfaddress in the theme config, you will see your issue disappear. Of course, you may not want to disable it, but then you will have to rename your file.

Firefox interpretes the bug differently than IE. It actually starts looping some javascript so the browser goes haywire.
